Our Sustainability Practices
We love the great outdoors, and doing our best to be environmental stewards drives the way we do business and approach landscaping in the Front Range. Arterra’s owner and principal, John Majeski, is a Sustainable Landscape Partner with the Associated Landscape Contractors of Colorado and a preferred contractor with Team Dave Logan.
Resource Loop Closing Through Material Recycling
Each time we renovate a space, we divert as much natural material as possible at a partnering yard waste recycling facility. Natural materials such as stone, rockery, and soil return to nature or are processed into new materials rather than taking up space in landfills. These diversion processes help reduce greenhouse gases from landfill decay and gives materials a second life. |
Sustainable Landscape Designs
When homeowners approach us looking for help creating a new landscape design, they often express a desire for a final space that is low-maintenance, beautiful and functional for entertaining, playing, and relaxing in. Water Wise Landscaping Xeriscape designs enable home water savings by reducing lawn coverage with drought-friendly ground covering materials, groupings of plants and shrubs, waterwise perennials, and native plants. |
Pollinator Gardens
Supporting pollinators with beautiful native perennials and avoiding the use of harmful pesticides creates some of the most beautiful and ecologically appropriate landscape design available. You'll enjoy the vibrant colors and fragrant smell of flowers while having fun watching for a variety of pollinators that will be attracted to your home. Not all landscape designers have the vision and expertise to create beautiful spaces that thrive while helping conserve water. |
Arterra’s award winning landscape architect has more than 18 years of experience customizing unique designs to compliment homes and lifestyle in the Front Range. Our drought resistant designs maintain style and sustainability ranging from arid garden looks, to rustic ranch veneers, and modern cottages.

Irrigation Efficiency
If a faucet inside your home leaks, someone is likely to notice quickly. Irrigation systems, however, can often develop inefficiencies, leaks, and need for maintenance without displaying immediate visual indicators. We offer irrigation efficiency consultations to give you the peace of mind that your system is running at an optimal level to sustain your landscape without overwatering, under watering, or letting leaks go undetected. Need help flushing your sprinkler lines before a freeze to prevent water expansion damage? We can help with that too. |
